Band Photography – Crills Wilson Live in NYC

It’s hard for me to turn down a trip to NYC.  When I heard my buddies in Crills Wilson were playing a show at the Village Lantern and there might be a Carina-sized space in the car if I didn’t mind using an amp as an armrest, I threw on some clothes, powdered my hair (washing is overrated!) and waited on the porch to get picked up.  Crills was last band to play on the night’s bill, but those of us who stuck around were rewarded with their signature rockin’ and rollin’ and enough energy to keep us awake the rest of the night.  Seriously, though, we ended the night by staying up until dawn (which can only be partially attributed to the amazing cafe americano I drank when we first got into the city).  That’s how they do in New York, right??

Crills Wilson at Milkboy | moltocarinaphoto.com - [...] you may remember Crills Wils (I’m a chronic word shortener, sorry guys) from their show at Village Lantern in NYC!  Milkboy’s lighting situation was a little funkier than I like to shoot in, but I [...]

Kensington Loft Interior Photography

Having the opportunity to photograph interesting and unique spaces like this loft in Kensington is like someone handing you an un-birthday present and saying, “Have fun!”  This loft is in a converted building that I believe was a bottling plant for Harbison Dairy.  I love the post-industrial feel of this part of Philadelphia, and I’m always fascinated to see how remnants of the city’s past can be repurposed for modern usage instead of demolishing these historical buildings or letting them sit to rot.  This loft condo was beautiful in a rustic, worn in way.  The exposed brick and beams get me every time, and there was so much natural light all around from the high ceilings with enormous windows – almost too much!  The architects added unique touches to each unit in the building, including stairways and metalwork inside and out of each space that are truly works of art.  You really don’t see many lofts like this in Philly!

Carina - Hi Alexa! I’m not sure of the name of the building, but it is located on Amber Street in Kensington. I hope that helps!

Center City Loft Interior Photography

This was the second apartment I photographed for a very friendly and outgoing girl named Andrea.  She’s the kind of person who  makes you feel like old friends as soon as you meet her.  She has a great eye for interior decorating, and I love her style!  On top of that, she showed me the secret passage from her building to Trader Joe’s… my kind of girl.  I’m going to be working with her again soon, and I can’t wait to see how she’s put her unique touch on her other places.

Headshots and Portrait Photography – Pallante Law

I assisted in the production of a commercial for the Law Offices of John Pallante and took a headshot of Mr. Pallante at the end of the shoot.  He liked my work so much that he asked me to come back and take headshots of the rest of his staff!  It felt a little bit like school photo day in the conference room with lights set up and my instructions of “Turn your shoulders to the left, turn your face toward me, chin up just a bit – perfect! And smile!”  I always dreaded the day when the teacher would hand out all those photo studio envelopes with the most awkward photos ever peeking through the envelope window…  But in our shoot we could see the photos right away!
